Hello everyone,
I hope you have all had an interesting week; I for one have had a good one and also have booked some events that I am very excited to go to. My week actually started Sunday with the Vogue Festival where I attended the Bobbi Brown Master class about how she built her empire. I then had a photo-shoot with my new photographer David Carvalho and new Makeup artist Gerri. Lastly today I have just returned from a wedding which made me very emotional but I think all good weddings should make you emotional.
The Vogue Festival was held at Royal College of Arts, London and it was the first time that I attended the Vogue Festival. I attended the Bobbi Brown Master class as I mentioned before and she was joined by the face of the brand, Kate Upton. Now it is not often people make me star struck but seeing Bobbi Brown up close was definitely something I will remember, especially as she is tiny. In fact I recorded the whole master class at the Vogue festival as I wanted to go over it when I returned home. I always say that Antoine is my best team mate and together who knows maybe we can have a brand one day but until then I will continue to gain inspiration from the greats. One thing that Bobbi Brown said that really inspired me was about her family, she said at the start of a school year she gets all the dates from the teachers for performances and concerts and she has never missed a show or school concert. I really admire the way she still manages to put family first even though she has such a busy schedule and I will definitely be taking her advice as my journey continues. Unfortunately being a workaholic I actually ended up with a Kidney infection this week and was unable to attend the photography exhibit at Somerset House but I shall be going next week. I did however, work through the pain on Thursday for my photo-shoot. I was very excited about the photo-shoot that I had as it was the first one that I had with my new team and from here on out all my official photos will be with them. Luckily my new photographer David Carvalho told me about Jodeci having a new album which I immediately downloaded and we listened to for the whole shoot. We took a lot of photos specifically the ones for the competition giveaways that I have coming up over the next few months. I also took some shots with my radio co-host (Pulse, Mondays and Fridays 10am-1pm) Tatted Shan who is in the process of having her website built so as soon as it is completed I will let you know. The day went really well and the photos look amazing, I cannot wait to share them with you all but for now I have just attached a few as a taster. Just know that Gerri done me the most amazing crystal lips using Swarovski Crystals and I could not be happier with the result. I used them for my new lip sync video for Ciara – Dance like we’re making love, I hope to download the album and have the review up next week.
I ended my week at my friend’s wedding, now I will not put too much detail up about the wedding because I do think some things are private. However it did get me thinking a lot about family again and when I returned home from the wedding Antoine asked me the meaning of life? I replied and said ‘to do as much as possible because we only get a limited time to do everything that we want to do’. For instance when I took him to the Shard I will keep trying to help him got the places that he would like to visit. I couldn’t help think of the man from Baltimore and what his family must be going through right now. In case you don’t know he was arrested and died whilst in police custody. I have found out some facts this evening that made my skin crawl in regards to the route the police van took back to the police station and I am very glad to hear that they have arrested the 6 officers involved and they are being charged with murder. It is only right that Freddie Gray get justice but it will never bring him back, all his family will have are memories. My heart goes out to his family at this horrible time and I hope they can find some sort of peace through this difficult time. As a Mother I cannot imagine anything worse than losing a child.
On that note I will be ending my blog this week on a positive note at least he will get the justice he deserves. There are always good things to try and focus on and I will definitely try to stay positive whilst following that story. I will still continue my weekend as planned which includes watching the Mayweather versus Pacquiao boxing match and a baby shower. I don’t know how many of you will be staying up to watch the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight but I have heard it’s meant to be the biggest boxing event in history. I hope you guys have had a good week and are spending time with your loved ones doing fun things like walks in the parks or even watching the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight.
